助動詞の時制の一致で、上の文は時制の一致するのは理解できます。(言った時に疲れているから過去の事だと) しかし、下の文は過去の事だと合格できたと意味と合わなくなり意味や何故過去を使うのかはっきりしなくわからないです

比較級間違っているところを教えて欲しいです🙇‍♀️

That would be the best way. は、「おそらくこれが最良の方法でしょう。」という意味ですが、wouldの部分をcould やmightに変えても成り立つのでしょうか？また成り立った場合、意味は違ってくるのでしょうか？

何故can I～？であるとわかるのですか？ あと、できたらmay I～?とcan[could] I～? の違いについても教えてくれたら嬉しいです。
