Present Perfect Simple vs. Past Perfect Simple
The present perfect is used to talk about an action which happened between the past and now.
form: have / has + past participle
T have traveled to Madagascar three times in the last year.
My uncle has traveled to New York 20 times.
Have you ever been to another country?
The past perfect is used to talk about an action which happened before another action in the past.
form: had + past participle
T had already been to the store before my brother woke up.
Before I graduated, I had filled out several university applications.
