F: Hello. T'm Lisa. I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a student from America. I just
arrived in Japan a few days ago. I was born and raised in New York. This is my
first time to leave my home country, so I'm a little nervous. My father is from
Germany and my mother is from India. They both graduated from a university in
London. Then they moved to America and got married. My parents have told me a
lot of stories about their cultures. Because of their stories, I became very interested
in foreign cultures, especially languages and food. My father taught me German,
so I use both English and German at home. Also, I started studying Japanese
when I was eleven years old. At that time, I was a big fan of Japanese anime. I have
studied Japanese for five years. It's not easy, but I'm enjoying it. Ill try to speak to
all of you in Japanese. My mother is such a good cook! One of my friends who
lived in Japan before gavemy mother a Japanese cookbook, and now she is
interested in cooking Japanese food. I have been to a restaurant and eaten some
Japanese food, such as sushi, in New York. During my stay in Japan, I'd love to try
many kinds of Japanese food, and I also want to learn how to cook it. If you are
good at cooking, please teach me! I'm looking forward to experiencing many things
in Japan. Nice to meet you all!
