Univercity has another meaning in Latin. Uni means one. City is a large area with many people being active in daily life not just learning.

Univercity is spelled wrong because in Latin a different image is created. Many English words come from Latin.

I am not even sure if there is a meaning to univer-city in Latin. I just know that University has Latin roots having to do with a place that involves studying. If city has Latin roots it would involve a large area where people work and live.

Also Universe comes from Latin where uni is one and verse is the grand way of life thus in English we use universe, or we used to, to explain Earth's position in space.

Latin roots is where many English words and European words were made from.
