There are other robots helping people in
need. For example, HAL. It is a Robot Suit. Our
muscles are strengthened by it. So, if we wear it, we
can carry very heavy things. It is very useful for the
elderly, disabled people, and care workers.
PARO is a baby seal robot made by a
Japanese scientist. It can feel light and hear sound.
PARO can respond when we call its name. PARO

has comforted many people in hospitals, nursing
homes, and schools around the world.
Robots have been given important roles in dangerous places. For
example, some robots can work outside
the Earth. Mars rovers explored Mars
and brought us important information
about the planet. Rescue robots are
helpful, too. When there is a fire or an

earthquake, they find victims and bring them to safe places. Japan has tried to
develop useful rescue robots.
Today, there are many useful electronic devices around us such as
computers and mobile phones. They have become a part of our daily lives.
Maybe in 10 or 20 years' time, robots will be the same. Living with Astro Boy
