肯定文から受動態への書き換えを考えてみてください。
my friend watches the movie.→the movie is watched by my friend
ですよね。
つまり前者の目的語を主語に持ってきて、前者の主語を後ろのBy句に回す。というルールです。
普通の文ならByはつけずにSVOの形で書くことが出来るので、Byが続いているということは受動態の文と言えます。
