意味は、以下のようになります。
1. In other words, if we want bonsai to go global, we must first spread it locally, country to country.
言い換えると、もし我々が盆栽を世界的に広めたいのであれば、まず地域的に、即ち、各国へと広げていかなければならない。
2. But if we cling to them too rigidly, we will end up stopping people getting involved.
しかし、もし我々がそれらに固執し過ぎると、人々が関与するのを止めてしまう。
