10 as to~で「目的 (~するために)」を表しますが、 今回はその否定形 "so
as not to ~「~しないために~しないように」 です (to不定詞の否定
形は "not to ~ですね)。 so as toがくっつくと 「目的」、離れると「結果・
程度」を表します。

2. so … as to ～(動詞・原形)＋not ＝ so … as [not] to ～ ⇒ この否定表現が存在しない
② so as toのふたつの用法の見分け方
1. so as to ～(動詞・原形)　～するために ＝ in order to ～ ＜目的＞　
〇 so as not to ～ ＝ in order not to ～　～しないように、～しないために
2. so …(形容詞・副詞) as to ～(動詞・原形)　とても…なので～する、～する程… ＜結果・程度＞　
例：Ken is a junior high school student but he is so intelligent as to have discussions on physics with university students.
