英検3級の1次試験を通り、今週2次試験の面接があります。そしてこのような問題に出会ったのですが、No.2のWhere is the cat?という質問に対して、模範解答はIt's on the sofa.となっていたのですが、there is the cat on the sofa.ではダメですか？理由も教えて欲しいです。

◆二次試験は面接委員と1対1で, すべて英語で行われる。

There is〜. だと遠回りをしたような言い方になると思います❕
意味は伝わるので、
