この写真の一文目の文章についてなのですが、答えにはourselvesは自分の考えとして訳されていますが、どのように考えたらそのような訳になるのでしょうか。解説お願いします

自分自身って訳していいと思うけど、意訳では？確かに「自分自身を伝える」は変な感じだし、それってつまり自分の考えだし。
