質問です。
ピンクの下線を引いたところなのですが、
まず、itをthemに変えた方がいいと言われたのですが、そうすると、an afternoon teaも、複数形にした方がいいのでしょうか？
また、At the time of〜で 〜の際というのを表したつもりなのですが、ofをけしてカンマつけて と言われたのですが、何がダメだったのでしょうか？

曖昧な回答をして申し訳ございません。
まずofを消すと当時という意味になるという認識であってます。その際にという意味ならat the time ofの方が正しいです。at the time ofを使う際は後ろは名詞句にするということは忘れないでくださいね♪
having とdrinking は動名詞ではなく分詞だと思います。理由についてはそれ以降の文章で分詞の前を説明しているからです。lookingは現在進行形のing形です。現在進行形で未来を表す表現の代表例ですね。回答遅れてすみませんでした。また不明な点は聞いて下さい。

afternoon teaは不可算名詞なので複数形にする必要はないです。them に変えた理由としては、afternoon teaは液体として考えたら存在は複数として考えられるのでthemにすると言われたのかもしれません。
ofを消してカンマにするという点についてです。まずofなどの前置詞の後にSVを続けることはできません。そのためカンマにする必要があります。もしofのまま使いたいなら
At the time of going to the city などofの後に名詞句を続ければいいと思います。

At the time, とすると、その当時は という意味にはならないのでしょうか??
〜の際には という意味にしたいのですが、、

一番最後のlookingは動名詞という理解であってますか?
自分で文章を書いたものの、文法が曖昧なところがあって、、
