これは分かりにくいですよね。
名詞のpress は、報道(機関)、記者、出版社、圧縮装置、といった意味で見ることがおおく、論評、批評という意味があると今回はじめて知りました。
同じ文のコンマ以降の後半の文脈と繋ぎあわせて、意味が通るように考えました。
