those days で「当時」という意味です。ですから,
lived in の inも必要で,関係詞は lived のあとにあっ
たはずの in the house という副詞句の働きをしなけ
ればいけません。そこから, 関係副詞の where が出
てくるわけです。
あるいは,関係代名詞の which を活かすならば,
直前に前置詞の in を加えるか,lived のあとにin を
補うこともできます。ここでは関係副詞の where は
〈前置詞+関係代名詞〉の in which に置きかえること
ができるわけです。
(2)「キング氏は私が尊敬するまさにその人物です」
関係代名詞が1ook up to ~(~を尊敬する)という
動詞句の前置詞 to の目的語にあたるので,目的格の
