(Henry is talking to his sister, Michelle, about Isaac Newton.)
Henry: Michelle, do you know who Isaac Newton is?
Michelle: Yes, he was a great scientist.
Henry: When was he born?
Michelle: Why don't you look it up in Children's Encyclopedia?
Henry: Okay. Newton begins with an “n.” Here, NEWTON, ISAAC (1642–1727).
Michelle: He sure lived to an old age. What else does it say?
Henry: It says that when he was a little boy, he left school to work on his mother's farm.
Michelle: Was he a good farmer?
Henry: No, he never was. He was unhappy with the work, so his mother sent him back to
school. When he was at college, he found great interest in math and physics.
Michelle: It was lucky that he had no interest in farming.
Henry: Yes, I think so.
Michelle: Henry, did you hear the story of Newton's apple before?
Henry: No. What is it about?
Michelle: One day, when Newton was sitting under an
apple tree, an apple fell and hit his head.
That was how the notion of gravitation came
into his mind.
Henry: Sounds interesting.
