CROWNという教科書のLesson７の本文なのですが、ここでのthe some とas they did の意味を教えて頂きたいです！🙇🏻‍♀️

In 1973, I went to Shishmaref and spent the summer with an Eskimo family.

the same A as Bで「Bと同じA」という意味です。

例えば
・He has the same car that I (have).
彼は私(が持っているの)と同じ車を持っている。
・He lives in the same town that I (do).
彼は私(が住んでいるの)と同じ街に住んでいる。

よって「私は彼らが食べたのと同じ食べ物を食べた」となります。
くれぐれもsomeにしないように。sameです。
