共テのリーディングです。黄色い線部分で問題文では70年前には90%以上の米の種類があったと言ってるのに対し、答えの方は50%近くとなっているので誤っていると思ったのに答えは③でした。なぜですか、？

ここにしかヒントはない気がしましたが見落としてるかもしれません。でも解説にはこの一部しか書いていません。

いただいた文章を読む限りはそのようですね。

しかし回答番号42・43は「当てはまらない」という選択肢はないわけだから2つ選ばないといけないんですよね？

選択肢④は正解としてすぐわかるけど、②⑤はそんなことこの文章に書いてないし、①は3.Disturbing Truthsのスライドには当てはまらないと考えて、消去法的に③を選ぶほかないとは思います。
「90%」と「半分近く」はたしかに大きく違うと私も思いますが、ここでは細かい数値よりは「いっぱい減った」ということが伝われば良いわけだから、
そういう意味では大きな問題ではないのかもしれないですね。合理的な理由を探すならですが
