しかし、脳の大きさが、体長や体重に対応しているとしても、知性に関しては、どちらにとっても（身体が大きくてそれに応じて脳が大きい人も、身体が小さくてそれに応じて脳が小さい人も）、大して有利な点があるようには思われない。

ですかね。

文構造までは取らないけど、ポイントが3つあって

①eitherは「どちらか」の意味ですが、否定文の場合は「どちらも〜ない」の意味になります。

②greatとかmuchのように「大量」「程度が高い」とかって意味の単語は、否定文の場合は「大したことない」「それほどでもない」というような意味になります。

whenの部分は無難に訳すなら、「〜の場合に」「〜のときに」でもいいです。
ここではより踏み込んで訳していますが、okとされるかどうか、先生によるかもしれませんね。

when〜のまとまりとその後ろの部分が、順接では繋がらない関係になっている、というのがわかるでしょうか。
「身体のサイズによって脳のサイズも違う」ならば、普通は「身体のサイズの大小が知性の点でも有利／不利に関係する」と考えると思います。
これを　A なら B／Aの場合にB としましょう。
普通、Aっていう条件だったら、B の結果になるよね、
ということです。

しかし、
この文章では「大して有利はない」としているので、
普通成り立つだろうということが成り立たないんです。
普通、A ならBだよね、ということが成り立たないで、別のCという現象が起きている、ってことです。
だから、
A【だとしても】（Bではなく）C
って訳すんです。
