One rainy Sunday, Anita woke up and looked outside. “It's raining again." she said and

“Do you like rain, Mom?" Anita asked.“You usually look happy on rainy days.'
Julia replied, "No, I don't like rain, but rainy days always remind me of my old friends.
Now, those memories make me feel happy on rainy days. When I was your age, I didn't like
rainy days either. Just like you, I loved to do active things outside, especially hiking and
Cycling. When it rained, I couldn't do the things I liked, so I didn't want to do anything at all.
One day, however, my two best friends and I decided to find a way to make rainy days more
enjoyable."

Julia continued, “We each tried to think of some ways to enjoy rainy days. For the next
few months, every time it rained, the three of us met at my home and tried out one of our
ideas. The first idea was to try to enjoy getting wet. This seemed like a good idea at the
time, but very soon, we got completely wet and felt very cold. Another idea was to walk
around together under a big umbrella while singing. That went well for a while, but because
of the strong winds and rain, we couldn't hear ourselves sing, and then the umbrella broke.
In the end, we did agree that just being together was a good way to spend rainy days. It was
much better than just sitting alone at home waiting for the rain to stop."
Julia smiled and said, "Anita, I really want to help you learn to enjoy rainy days, too.
That's why I think you should invite your friends over and spend time with them on days like
