2 When I went to the UK, there were
many surprises and challenges. Firstly, there were
so many people from all over the world. I could hear many different languages, including
French and Chinese, especially in cities. As I made friends with classmates from different
countries, I realized that English is really international. Secondly, I was asked about Japan
many times, but it was difficult to describe our traditional customs or modern culture. So I
also realized that I had never thought very much about them, but now I want to know

more.
3 Finally, I felt that I changed a little, too. By the time I returned to Japan, I liked to eat
more bread! Also, I ( 2 ) much shyer, but in the UK, I had to ask local residents
about many things, like which bus I should take. So I'm not shy of talking to strangers
