この英文は正しい形ではないという思います
furnitureは不可算名詞なのでa large number of furnitureではなくa large amount of furnitureが正しい表現だと思います

There is not a large amount of furniture in my room.とThere is not much furniture in my room.はほぼ同じ意味を表すと思います
