1. My mother didn’t let me go to the concert.
説明: let me go toはallow me to go to(行くこと許す)でも良いと思います。
2. She got her hair cut on the morning of the day.
説明: get one’s hair cut / get a haircut: 髪を切ってもらう ・on the morningはin the morningでも良いと思います。
3. I heard someone call my name from far away.
説明: 「(人が)聞く・見る・感じる動詞(知覚動詞)+ヒト+動詞の原形(〜): ヒトが〜するのを聞く・見る・感じる」・from far awayはfrom a distanceでも良いです。
4. I saw John studying in the library yesterday afternoon.
説明: 3.の応用で「(人が)聞く・見る・感じる動詞(知覚動詞)+ヒト+動詞-ing形: ヒトが〜しているのを聞く・見る・感じる」
5. The Italian was trying to make himself understood in Japanese.
説明: try to do ~: 「~しようとする」 make oneself understood: 「自分の言葉[考え]を人にわからせる」という定番の表現です。
