写真2枚目の2行目のwhatever they wereについてなのですがこれは副詞節なので意味的には前のlessonにかかっているのですが修飾はできないため何にかかっているのか分からくなってしまいました。教えて頂きたいです。

分詞構文の learning にかかっていると思います
「レッスンが何であれ→習得した」という修飾関係だと思います
「それら(=レッスン)が何であれ簡単に素早く(レッスンを)習得した」
という意味になると思います
