(3) is a bit dubious because it's the weather that is rainy, not the game. I would suggest:
❸ The weather being rainy, the game was put off.

Mr. Taka, yes this is probably the best answer.

It's a good exercise, but "It/the weather being rainy..." is very formal language. In spoken language people will just say something like "The game was put off because of the rain".
