The Day of the Dead
The Day of the Dead is an important festival in Mexico. Although it sounds
scary, it is in fact a happy holiday. It falls on November 1st and 2nd.
This holiday is a time for the living to remember the dead of the family.
Orange-colored marigolds are everywhere because these flowers can invite the
s dead to the living world on the Day of the Dead. Some people hold parties at
graveyards. They make up their faces to look like skulls and take candles, flowers, or
and food there. They sing and dance in the graveyards. Others celebrate the
festival at home and share stories of the dead to remember them.
