not everythingが部分否定で、as same as というか　the same as you lookだし、みたいな。
これのまず問題は何かというと、日本語レベルを一つ下げずに英語にしてしまっていることです。
実は日本語を日本語のまま英語に直していく、という作業はお金をもらえるくらい大変なことです。

で、基本的に同時通訳なんかを目指される方が最初に学ぶ方法が｢日日翻訳｣です。一つレベルを下げて、子供やおばあちゃんにもわかるような日本語にします。

この日本語の文だと、

●経験があれば、見た目とそれ自体の違いがわかる

あとは、it was not until that とか知っているとそのまま英語にできるかもしれません。

With some experiences, you can recognize there is a difference between what you just look and what it is.

It is not until you experience that you can recognize everything is different from what you look.
