→ ①ではthe employees(複数)＋the president(単数)＝複数が主語になるので isの主語になれない
③not only A but also B(S)＋動詞(V)：AだけでなくBもまた～する
→ ③ではthe president(単数)が主語になるのでisの主語になる
④B(S) as well as A＋動詞(V)：AだけでなくBもまた～する
→ ④ではthe employees(複数)が主語になるので isの主語になれない
※B as well as A＋動詞：現在では動詞に近いAを主語にすることもある。従って、401の問題をこれからの入試で使うのは困難では？
