使う必要があるのか分からないので、

最初のhaveはto＋不定詞で、後ろのhadは、なにも持っていないという意味のhaveとnothingだと思います。

不定詞のhaveはなぜ使うんですか？

前のhave. は完了形のhave です。have ＋ 過去分詞のhave。
the saint’s life seems to have nothing to do with... のhave を過去形にしたい（過去のことだから）、
けれどもseems to の後だから、原形にしなくてはならない、そういう時に完了形にして過去を表すんじゃなかったかな。
