其實you need to 有點中翻英
如果你是要建議的話感覺可以用should
然後encourage用法如樓上說的

然後我自己改成:You need to encourage your son to study hard, rather than punish him.我還是比較習慣照翻雖然比較中式英文 但是文法上來說沒有錯吧？
