3は、(D) belief が正解ですが、これは(A)と(D) 両方の意味を調べるとわかります。
(D)belief 信念や信仰等、正しい、正しくないに関わらず、とにかく信じられていること

(A)のcustomは、慣習、風習といった意味になります。
例　
毎日、犬を散歩に連れていく習慣
アメリカでは朝にシャワーを浴びる風習がある
等々

「血液型占い」を指して　それはancient belief（大昔の考え）だと
思っていた、とすると文脈に合います。
血液型占いを習慣や風習にするのは無理がありますね。

5は、一見、(A)も(B)も両方文脈に合いそうですが、
この場合は、カッコ直前の　「a」に注目します。
