Excuse me sir. I’m so sorry to bother you, I’m wondering I could possibly ask you several questions: ①Why is it wrong to say “can’t sleep”? ② What’s the difference between “can’t sleep” and “don’t sleep”? ③Is it correct to use “should” instead of “could”? Thank you in advance.

Answer

Actually, it has not any wrong in the sentence.
‘Can’t sleep’ the feeling is used by that person, but ‘don’t sleep well’ is certain by the others.
Should or could, you need to find the suitable situation. ‘Should’ the feeling is that parents/ teachers tell you(order), ‘can/could’ the feeling is that your friends give some suggests to you.

Thank you very much for your reply. It is really helpful. By the way, are you a native English speaker? I’m not saying being a native matters but I just wanna know what kind of impression of the expressions native English speakers have.

Oops... let me correct some mistakes I made. I carelessly deleted several words.

Answer

Sorry about that I’m not a native speaker, and I keep to learn in English. Maybe my answer is not right, it should be discussed.
But I’m trying to use the learning way of mother language and it can get the instinctive understanding, such as keep to listening in audio, television.

My apology. I didn’t mean that. Don’t be sorry for it, sir. It doesn’t matter AT ALL whether you are a native or not, as I told you not. Your accent, your vocabulary, your expressions and so on are all your identity. Nothing to feel sorry about. Be proud of yourself and efforts you’ve made to learn English. I myself am a poor English speaker but never feel sorry about my English. After all, I speak English much better than an ordinary English speakers speak my mother tongue, Japanese.

Answer

Thank you. You are very courteous😁Japan is a good place.

Oh please don’t mention it.😅
