英語の同等比較表現について質問です。

「その部屋には男性と同じくらいの人数の女性がいる。」を作文する場合、

There are men in the room.
There are women in the room.

をもとにして、
There are as many women in the room as there are men in the room. という文が作ることができ、接続詞asの前後で共通のthere,are,in the roomを省略して、
There are as many women in the room as men.
となると思ったのですが、答えでは
There are as many women as men in the room.
となっていました。
私の回答はどこが誤っているのでしょうか。

後者はas…asの繋がりを優先して書いています。
