多指餐廳或飯店裡那種價格較高的佳餚。
例如：
The hotel restaurant is noted for its excellent cuisine.

dish (n.) food prepared in a particular way as part of a meal.
多指平常某一餐的菜色（早、中、晚餐）
例如：
1. a fish dish
2. a chicken dish
3. a vegetarian dish

但是，當 dish 為
the expensive dish in a restaurant 的時候
這時的 dish 就等同於 cuisine 。
當然，假如某人平時
都是吃餐廳或飯店裡那種美饌佳餚
那他的 cuisine 或 dish 當然就沒什麼差別
因為每一 dish（餐、菜）都是 cuisine（佳餚）
