the比較級という構文では、be動詞が省略されたり、主語とbe動詞が倒置されたりすることがあります。
ただし毎回必ず起こるわけではありません。

なぜこういうことが起こるのかというと、

be動詞、他の動詞と比べるとあんまり強い意味を持ちませんよね。
で、そういう単語を節の後ろの方に置くというのは、避けがちなのです。(ただしこれもあくまで傾向であって、必ずではありません)
だから、倒置によってbe動詞を前に出したり、be動詞を省略したりするのです。
