というのが読み取れるのはわかりますよね。

もちろん原形でも良いのですが、
実際にジョギングはしてるので、それを踏まえているのだと思います。
同じものを比較するために進行形と進行形にしている、と考えてもいいですし
「ジョギングはしている。でもそれより別のことをしていたい」という意味を読み取っても良いと思います。
