這題文法上To V跟Ving都正確，可是意思不一樣。用Sponsoring 就會讓這句變分詞構句，也就是主詞he「同時」做了sponsored motorsport events and drivers 和 pulled together his team…；如果用To的話，就變成「為了(In order to)」贊助賽車活動跟選手，他組建了自己的隊伍，但這兩句並沒有因果上的關聯（也可以說因果順序顛倒了），所以不適合用To。
