(C) It is said that love is a drug. But is it just a drug? That is the argument of Larry Young, a professor at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, saying that love can be explained by different *neurochemical events in the brain. If it is true, he says, people will no longer have to rely on P *oysters or chocolates to create a loving mood. Instead, it will be possible for scientists to develop some *chemicals that would make people fall in love with the first person they see. As for those who have fallen in love with someone they shouldn't have, there could be a medicine to the love that can't be returned back. Also, Professor Young argues that it makes sense that the same sort of chemicals might be making the bond between individuals stronger. He believes there are other chemicals too - it is just a matter of doing the research and finding out which ones they are. "I'm sure that we are just at the beginning stage. There are hundreds of important chemicals in the brain that we don't know yet," he said. He believes one day we will have a much better understanding of how all these chemicals *interact in certain brain areas that have certain function so that humans have these complex emotions. *neurochemical n.神經化學 *chemicals n.化學物質 *oysters n.牡蠣 *oxytocin n. 催產 *interact v. 互動 47.
