この(2)の問題で、答えるときはyes, these are. などではなぜダメなのでしょうか？
また、この問題とは関係ないのですが、yes, this is.やyes, that is. なども使えないのでしょうか？
yes,［ ］is (are ).の［　］に入るものが代名詞なのか何なのかよくわかりません。そのについてもわかる方がいましたら教えていただきたいです。

答える時に使うのは、I, we, you, he, she, they, it です。
この7種類のどれかに当てはまるはずなので、それに書き換えます。
thisはitに、theseやthoseはtheyに書き換えます。

Yes, 〜. またはNo, 〜. で答える時は必ず書き換えます。

もちろん、疑問詞を使った、誰がそれを食べたんですか？みたいな疑問文はそうではないですが、Yes No で答えられる疑問文に答える時はそうです。
