Welcome to the world of Mongolia's Naadam Festival. This three-day event.
which takes place in July has been around for thousands of years. Thousands
of Mongolians gather for´it in the capital of Ulaanbaatar, where they take part in
wrestling, archery, and horse racing.

The festival kicks off with a colorful parade. Everyone dresses in traditional

Wrestlers are not divided by weight and there is no time limit which can make for

Then, like heroes from Mongolian stories, archers take their shot. Archery is
important for Mongolians because they must hunt to survive. Each archer is given
15 40 arrows. The person with the most direct hits wins.
However, the most exciting event at Naadam is horse racing) Mongolians think
highly of horses because they carry people and provide food. Children race over
open ground on horseback. The horses are tested for their speed and ability, and
the young riders for their courage. The fastest horses are honored in songs and
poetry.
After the games are finished, it's time for the best part: the party! Naadam
athletes eat and drink together and share stories and songs. Mongolians may
move around a lot, but Naadam brings them together year after year.
