Research now shows us that there is such a thing as having too many choices, and it's actually

against our best interest. What's more, it results in a huge waste of time.
American psychologist Barry Schwartz lays this all out in his book, The Paradox of Choice.
He sheds light on the process by which we become less satisfied, which is the cost of having too
many options. First, once we've made our pick, we imagine how we could have done better. This
then nags at us, making us regret our imperfect decision Soon, we convince ourselves that the
discarded options or even imaginary alternatives would have been better than what we settled on,
which causes expectations to rise. We're not completely satisfied with the outcome of our decision,
even if it's a good one. In the end, we are no longer able to experience pleasant surprises.
Fortunately, Schwartz says this can be turned around. But we must first embrace our limitations by
