Aが不適になる理由がわかりません。

もし(A)を入れると、because it is not clear whether or not to do to and unborn baby→「胎児にするかどうかははっきりしないからです」となり、意味が通じないと思います。だけど(B)をいれるとbecause it is not clear what they might do to an unborn baby→「それ(薬)が胎児に何をするかわからないからです」となり、意味が通じるからBだけが答えになるんだと思います👍🏻
