和文英訳の問題です。
「よくしたもので、たいていてのことは一夜明ければ嘘のように忘れている。」

Happily,most of these things are forgotten by the next morning,as if they had never happened.
と解答に書かれていたのですがなぜ副詞節に過去完了が使われているのかが分かりません。ここでは現在完了を使ってはいけないのでしょうか

It’s because of the ‘if clause’. The 3rd conditional is used because the sentence talks about something you regret not doing and it’s about changing one’s past.
