抑肝散（経口投与300mg/kg)によって、ペントバルビトール誘発性の睡眠時間は、孤立飼育マウスでは長くなり、集団飼育では影響なかった。

これらの知見が示唆しているのは、5-HT1AA受容体ではなく、GABAA-ベンゾジアゼピン複合受容体が、抑肝散によるマウス孤立体での睡眠時間減少の抑制と関連している、ということである。
