更確切的說eastern 是指一個地區「內」東方的部分，舉例來說，「北台灣」的英文是northern Taiwan 而非 north Taiwan 是因為北台灣屬於台灣內部的區域。反之，另一個例子是北韓跟南韓，它們的英文是North Korea跟South Korea，因為兩者是不同的國家
