ข้อ 2 วิธีดูว่าในประโยคจะใช้ Past simple หรือ Past continuous ให้หาคำว่า when และ while ในแต่ละข้อ เจอแล้ววงกลมไว้ก่อนเลย

- ถ้าเจอ while ต้องตามด้วย past con. (S. + was,were + V.ing)

- ถ้าเจอ when ต้องตามด้วย past sim. (S. + V.2)

- จะแปลได้ว่ากำลังทำ… อยู่ แล้วมีอีกเหตุการณ์มาแทรก
เช่น กำลังกินข้าวอยู่ โทรศัพท์ก็ดัง
กำลังอ่านหนังสือ เพื่อนก็ทักแชทมาชวนคุย

2. When the phone ….
(เห็น when แล้ว แสดงว่าต้องใช้ past sim. แล้วประโยคหลังคอมม่า , ใช้ past con.)

ข้อ 2. ตอบ When the phone rang, Jason was reading a book.
(rang คือ V.2 ของ ring)
(Jason = 1 คน ใช้ was + V.ing)
