をあげておきます。
ポイントとしては、"で区切ったら、sheもheもIで文を作ります。（相手が自分の事を言っていた場合）
また、ifというのは、直接話法にすると、wasやwereのBe動詞の文、という意味です。
had beenと完了形になっているのはaskedの時点で過去の事だからなので、"で区切ったら普通の過去形になります。
