早稲田志望さん、このような意訳(違訳)は、あまり気にしない方が良いと思います。
なぜなら、大学入試での和訳問題は、構文をきちんと理解して熟語や単語の意味が正確に反映されている解答が高得点となると言われています。
つまり、変に意訳をしようなどと考える必要がないからです。
前後の文章の内容を確認して、文脈に沿った和訳をすれば、それで十分です。
