Dogs have an incredible sense of smell. That's why they are capable of picking up even
the tiniest traces of certain items such as 1
drugs. Nowadays, with more and more digital
electronic devices like cellphones, flash drives,
crimes, some dogs are even trained to 2
and SD cards that may hold criminal evidence. Such police dogs can identify a chemical
substance called triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO), which is used in electronic storage devices.
3 their powerful nose, these dogs can detect electronic scents in places that seem impossible
to locate, including on grassland or beneath stones in a river.
Wafer, a 2-year-old black Labrador, is Taiwan's first electronics detection dog. Donated by
an American non-profit group, Wafer recently 4 his training and arrived in Taiwan this
year in September. Interestingly, according to his trainer, Wafer was originally intended to be a
guide dog or emotional support dog, but was rejected
