這裡的but其實跟and是差不多的用法，都叫做「對等連接詞」，顧名思義他們前後的詞性要對等，例如這裡前面是三單動詞takes後面就也要放三單動詞
and跟but的差別在於，but帶有轉折的意味，例如這裡前面再說養寵物很辛苦，後面則是說養寵物很有趣，這兩個是一好一壞的，所以就會用but
至於but (also)的用法通常是會在前面有not only的時候才會使用，例如This restaurant has not only good service but (also) nice food.

啊對耶，is跟has其實都是三單的動詞，所以文法上都對
但是have a lot of fun的用法應該是人作主詞，像是跟要出國玩的人說Have fun!
a lot of fun可以被翻成很大的樂趣，所以這裡就是說養貓養狗是一個很大的樂趣
