全体的に良い文章だと思います。
ただ、少し引っかかる文章になってるかもしれません。
It has 250 students.の「It」の内容が不透明です。話の流れからわかるかもしれませんが、少し「え？」ってなるかもしれません。
参考までに、自分が書いた文章を載せておきます！
Our school started fifty years ago. There are 250 students in our school. New school building completed building last year. We hold a Sports Day, and a School Festival every year. Many students take part in volunteer works.
最後、「take part in」を「join」の代わりに使ってみました。「take part in」は「join」よりも積極的に関わるというニュアンスがあります。今回はボランティア活動に参加するので、こちらのほうが適しているかなと思い使わせていただきました！
