When I was 12, my mother told me not to read comics any more. Things are different
here in Japan. Everyone in my host family reads comic books, even my host mother! I
used to read comics about superheroes in the U.S., but here they have comic books
about many different things. Some are about people with special powers, but a lot of
them are about ordinary people. Yusuke lent me one. It's about a high school basketball
team. It's really thick. It looks like a book. American comic books are a lot thinner.
